Loyalist Burial Ground
Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada

King St, Saint Stephen, NB, Canada

Contributed by Leslie Nutbrown, Oct 22, 2006, last edited Sep 01, 2007 . Total records = 40.

The cemetery is on King Street less than a kilometer from the international border between Calais, Maine and Saint Stephen, New Brunswick.

This Loyalist cemetery holds the graves of at least 69 Loyalists, mostly in unmarked graves who came from Nova Scotia about 1785. We were able to read most of the existing headstones, some of which were lying together on the ground. A project is underway to restore this cemetery.

Susan Nutbrown and I transcribed this cemetery from legible headstones in October, 2006.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
