To reach this cemetery, travel Old Hwy 24, a.k.a. Main Street, through the Town of Waterford, and as you reach the southerly town limits, there is an intersection with traffic lights, Thompson Road, turn left on Thompson Road and the Greenwood Cemetery in on your left. Haviland Cemetery is located in the northeast rear corner of Greenwood Cemetery.

The markers and remains in its present area were originally located in a family cemetery on Haviland property in Lot 12, Concession 2, in Townsend Township. They are now located in the rear northeast corner of Greenwood Cemetery, in the town of Waterford.

A plaque has been erected and indicates the moving of the cemetery. It reads: "Haviland 1815 � 1916. They were moved to this location in 1972, by the family with the co-operation of the Township of Townsend and the Government of Ontario.

I walked this cemetery in September, 2006, reading and recording the inscription from each tombstone and grave marker that could be read, in order to complete the transcription process. One stone is unreadable.
