York cemetery is north of Shephard Ave., south of Park Home Ave., and just west of Yonge St. It opened in 1948 and it is still in use.

This large cemetery was opened in 1948 and is situated on 172 acres of land originally owned by Joseph Shepard, who sold it in 1946 to the Mount Pleasant group. The office is in a designated historical building called Michael Shepard House.
