Saint Andrew Churchyard
Heckington, Lincolnshire County, England

Church Street, Heckington, Lincolnshire

Contributed by Shelley Clack, Jan 18, 2009, last edited Apr 09, 2009 [sclack@tiscali.co.uk]. Total records = 311.

Saint Andrew Churchyard is located at Church Street, Heckington, Lincolnshire. If you are intending to visit take the A17 from Sleaford, then turn onto the B1394. Church Street is the fourth turning on the right.

This churchyard is no longer used for burials, these take place in the cemetery, which opened in 1880. However, the churchyard does have a memorial garden for the placement of ashes which is still in use. The churchyard is well maintained, though many of the gravestones have worn away. A large number of the gravestones have been moved and laid around the front wall of the church.

This list also contains details of memorials located in the church. These are identified by (Int) at the end of the details. The Wynkhill aisle of the church was used for burials of the Christopher family. It contains a list of the family’s births, marriages and deaths. I have included all the burials that occurred at this church in my list. These are identified by (Rec) at the end of the details.

This is a full listing of all visible gravestones. It was recorded on 14 Jul 2008.
