This cemetery is located on the Cloran Road just on the outskirts of the town of Athboy in County Meath, Ireland.

This is a Catholic cemetery, opened c1940, and is well maintained and in the care of the local County Council and is still in use.

It is known locally as The New Cemetery, and not to be confused with another cemetery of the same name in the grounds of the local Church of Ireland, which is known locally as The Old Cemetery.

This includes all existing and legible headstone readings taken by me up to Nov 06, 2011.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
