Geraldine, DeKalb County, Alabama

Lat: 34° 21' 57"N, Lon: 86° 03' 11"W

Contributed by Lana Floyd, Nov 10, 2004 [w4ctk@farmerstel.com]. Total records = 37.

From Fort Payne to Rainsville, take Hwy 35 west. Turn left onto SR 75 and continue to Geraldine. On south end of Geraldine, turn right onto CR 23. Go to CR 359 about a mile and turn right onto a dirt road. Cemetery will be on the right or north side of road.

The first listed burial was in 1864, of George Masters, and it was used as late as 2002. It is not very active and in fair condition. There are approximately 35-40 unnamed graves.

I have submitted this work, which was transcribed by Douglass R. Brandon, Apr 2003, and used with permission.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
