El Toro Memorial Park is owned and operated by the Orange County Cemetery District.

History

El Toro Memorial Park was originally named, "El Toro Cemetery", and was established in 1896 by the El Toro Land and Water Company, back when development was taking off in south Orange County. As part of a gimmick to get investors to buy stock in the company, they offered burial plots for $1.00 each. In 1926, the cemetery was sold to Orange County Cemetery District #1, for the sum of $10.00. In 1985, the cemetery was renamed to, "El Toro Memorial Park."

Today, the cemetery sits on 25 acres, and has enough burial space to last until 2025.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
