Riverside National Cemetery is on the former site of Camp Hahn, established during World War I and used as an anti-aircraft training facility during World War II. On June 27, 1976, the Department of Veterans Affairs received 740 acres of land from the Department of the Air Force. The cemetery officially opened on Veterans Day, 1978 with the burial of Staff Sergeant, Ysmael R. Villegas, recipient of the Medal of Honor for action against the enemy during World War II.

The cemetery performs in excess of 7,000 interments per year, and is expected to provide interment space beyond the year 2030. The cemetery expects to receive another 182 acres of land from the Air Force.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
