Kimsey Cemetery (Chase Road Cemetery)
Mount Airy, Habersham County, Georgia

Lat: 34° 31' 09"N, Lon: 83° 30' 44"W

Contributed by Lynn McCollum, Oct 12, 2005 [lblackmere@alltel.net]. Total records = 19.

From Hwy 13 in Mount Airy, drive north on Chase Road. The cemetery is on the right at the intersection with Keller Road in the southeast corner.

This cemetery is very old and I found no history on it. Some call it the Chase Road Cemetery, however on older maps it is the Kimsey Cemetery and was possibly a family cemetery at least to start with.

The cemetery is well maintained, but not used for new burials since 1981. Many of the stones were illegible.

I compiled this on Nov 2004 from tombstone inscriptions when I walked the cemetery. This includes all known burials up to that date.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
