From Winterset, take Hwy 169 south to Macksburg Rd. where you turn right. Continue turning left onto Carver Trail, then take a right when you reach 313th St. it is 1/4 mile west of Carver Trail at 313th St.

This cemetery was walked and recorded by Lewis E. Morris in 1976, from which I created the first transcription. In April 2003 I surveyed this cemetery using my digital camera, taking photos of all legible and existing headstones.

For additional listings, I used burial indexes and marriage and death records for Madison County, Iowa.

This transcription was completed in Nov 18, 2003, and includes information from both of the above sources.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
