History

Idaho State Veterans Cemetery is located in northwest Boise, which is in the foothills of the Rockies on 76.5 acres of land, adjacent to and west of the Dry Creek Cemetery. In 2002, the J.L. Terteling Company, owned by a longtime Boise family, donated approx 40 acres to the state of Idaho. The remaining acreage was purchased from Dry Creek Cemetery District from a grant from the VA State Cemetery Grants Service.

This cemetery was dedicated on Jul 31, 2004, first interment was on Aug 30, 2004 and it was officially opened in November of 2004.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
