Medimont Cemetery
Medimont, Kootenai County, Idaho

From Hwy #3 driving south from Rose Lake when you are just south of Evans Creek Bridge turn right, or west, onto Medimont Road and continue for about 2 miles, staying left, until you see all the mailboxes for the residents of the community of Medimont. Take an immediate right turn straight up the hill, past all the homes and the cemetery will be at the end of the road.

The town of Medimont is at the bottom of the hill which this cemetery is on. The land for the cemetery was deeded to the town by Frank J and Anna May Davey, who both are buried here. The Grange took the responsibility on of caring for the cemetery at times. Various other adult and youth groups do the same.

There is one section in the cemetery called Boot Hill, which is where the county burials are, but no record can be found. In the 1890's Kootenai County Courthouse had a fire and some of the records were lost which some think might have a bearing on the loss of these records. However there just may never have been a good record kept.

There are some graves besides the county burials which have no markers. I was given names for some of those by Beverly Klein, a resident in the town. If I can find more I will add them later. I have placed an asterisk * after those, which means there is no marker.

I surveyed the cemetery on Sep 04, 2001, using a digital camera and a notebook. Am willing to share any photos I have.
