To reach this cemetery drive east out of Oswego on Rte 34 for little over a mile, turn right or south onto Douglas Road and continue south for about 4 miles. Turn east or left onto Simons and you will see the cemetery in about .5 mile on the left or north side of the road. If you come to Gilmore you went too far.
This is a new catholic church cemetery, which has only been open since 2004. It is owned and under the management of the Diocese of Joliet Illinois.
There are a lot of new stones with the names and birth dates on them. To date there have only been approximately 55 - 60 burials. The cemetery sits on 80 acres so there is plenty of room to expand.
I walked and read this cemetery Aug 02, 2007. I includes all existing and legible stones and markers.
