Miles Cemetery
Cartersburg, Hendricks County, Indiana

Lat: 39° 41' 21"N, Lon: 86° 26' 46"W
Liberty Township, Sec 32

Contributed by Jeff Curtis Nov 13, 2005, last edited Apr 22, 2006 [jefftcurtis@earthlink.net]. Total records = 14.

From Cartersburg drive south on Cartersburg Road, then left mile east on US 40. Cemetery is on the left/north side of Hwy 40 and abutting the Irons Cemetery. Or the cemetery is approximately 2 miles east of Belleville on US 40.

This cemetery was originally the Cartersburg Cemetery and was established in the 1870s. It is no longer used for burials. Township Trustees are charged with caring for public cemeteries in Indiana. It is very possible there are many more burials in this cemetery than what I found stones for.
This includes tombstone inscriptions of all known graves in this cemetery which I completed on Nov 12, 2005.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
