From Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana, proceed south on State Highway 37 to the stop light at the junction of State Highway 50, then go south on Highway 50 toward Loogoottee for two (2) miles, at that point, the cemetery is on the right side of the road.

The annual meeting of the Knott Cemetery Association is held every year on the first Sunday after Memorial Day Holiday at 2:00 p.m. The association is just receiving enough donations to pay for the upkeep, with not much surplus for other expenses. Most people do not realize the importance of their donations.

This is a very well kept cemetery and their are still several lots for sale. There are 30 rows of lots and most from row 1 through 29 have from 21 to 25 lots. Row 1 is on the west end of the cemetery and the gate is on the east end. There are no markers in row one and it is believed that the graves are those of slaves.

The following Names, Dates, and other information have been compiled from actual observation of the grave markers. Only a few were unreadable. No attempt is made to connect family groups but any evidence of a family is identified as such. Any Military service is noted. Some abbreviations: DOB - Date of Birth; DOD - Date of Death; M - Marriage; Vet - Military service; DAU - Daughter. If there is no date for DOD, then in most cases, not all, the person is still alive. A large number of grave stones only have the year, and not the month or day.
