From Kansas City, MO, take I35 South 9 miles to the Shawnee Mission
Parkway exit. Turn right (west) on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Turn
left on Quivera Rd. Located on east side of Quivera Rd directly
north of Shawnee Cemetery.
This cemetery is the northern-most of 3 adjoining cemeteries
located on Quivera in Shawnee, KS. The older Shawnee Cemetery
is to the immediate south of Pleasant View. See
map.
This cemetery was managed by a private family Cemetery Association
for many years and was well plotted and maintained. The oldest
marked burial is 1912. The cemetery is currently open for new
interments.
The Pleasant View Cemetery Association was established in 1895,
with the purchase of 7 acres of land from the Yotz family. In
2003, the City of Shawnee assumed ownership and manages interments
and maintenance.
This is a complete transcription by reading and photographing
