Potts Spring Church Cemetery
LaRue County, Kentucky

This listing was contributed by Edward Benningfield [knobcreekboy@mindspring.com].  Total records = 2.

Copied in Summer 1998

(Nelsonville map, Section 10-N-46 Carter coordinates) Sometimes called the Gaddis cemetery, this small cemetery is about one mile north of the Salem Christian Church. Records in the office of the Larue County Court Clerk indicate that George Gaddis was married to Mary E. Hargan on the 3rd day of November 1870 at Henry Hargan's. The marriage bond states that his parents were born in North Carolina. There are perhaps 50 graves with just fieldstones. Many of these graves are no doubt early settlers of this area. The Church is long gone.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
