Salem Christian Church Cemetery
LaRue County, Kentucky

This listing was contributed by Edward Benningfield [knobcreekboy@mindspring.com].  Total records = 136.

Copied in Summer 1998

(Nelsonville map, Section 12-N-46 Carter coordinates) The cemetery and the church are located on highway 1832 about 4 miles northeast of Hodgenville. It is presumed that those who had a church on the Potts Spring Farm earlier established the Salem Church after the Civil War. The cemetery dates back to about 1870. Several Civil War soldiers are buried here including David Dever, Thomas Dever, Joseph Williams, J. A. Vernon and G. W. Durbin.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
