Thompson Creek Cemetery
LaRue County, Kentucky

This listing was contributed by Edward Benningfield [knobcreekboy@mindspring.com].

(Nelsonville map, Section 14-N-47 Carter coordinates) This small pioneer cemetery is located west of the Thompson Creek and Raymond Peak road. (It is near Lincoln's Boyhood Home) The cemetery is in poor condition and is on a hill about mile from the road. The fieldstones have no inscriptions, but Mrs. Peak that lives near here in 1980 believes that members of the pioneer Thompson family are buried there. Jack Thompson, his father, and their family are buried in the New Haven St. Catherine Cemetery. Therefore, if Thompson's are here they likely died before 1850 and would be Jack Thompson grandparent's or before.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
