In Nanjemoy, drive south on Highway 6 for 1.3 miles. Turn left or east onto Highway 425 (Ironsides Road), go for 2.3 miles until you reach Melwood Retreat Center or 9035 Ironsides Road. Turn north onto the gravel road and then turn west until you get to a open area that is surrounded by wood. Walk north along the east side of the open field next to the woods for .2 miles. The cemetery on the edge of the woods next to the open.

One should check at the office before trying to continue on to visit this burial site. This is a small family cemetery that is in fair condition. It was established by the Price family many years ago. It is now within the grounds of the Melwood Retreat Center.

One of the headstones is lying flat on the ground. Some of the graves are marked by stones indicating where a person is buried. Melwood Retreat Center owns the property where this cemetery is located.

This includes only headstone readings from when I visited this cemetery on Oct 23, 2010.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
