Simmons Cemetery
Frederick County, Maryland

Thurston & Linthicum Rds
Comus, Maryland

Lat: 39° 16' 12"N, Lon: 77° 21' 12"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, Jan 20, 2004 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 18.

From Comus drive north on Highway 109 for 1mi, left/west on Thurston (crossing the county line) turning north onto Linthicum Road. The cemetery is on the northeast corner of the intersection. You will see two headstones sticking out from the road.

This is a small cemetery which is very neglected. There is alot of undergrowth and wild thorn bushes. It looks like it has not been taken care of in years. The last burial took place in 1903 according to the tombstones.

I walked through this cemetery on Dec 12, 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
