From the intersection of Hwy 4 (Pennsylvania Ave) and Westphalia Rd, go north on Westphalia Rd unti1 Westphalia Road turns west about .25 of a mile then turn west on Westphalia Rd. Go 1.25 miles until you reach the Affordable Refuse Company. You turn south into their parking lot and park there. Go to the office which is a brick ranch house and ask for permissiom to go there. The cemetery is behind the brick house. You can see it from the brick house.
The Magruder family owned the land and the manor named "Dunblane". The first burials occured in the mid 1780's with the last being 1857. The cemetery was once owned by the Carrick Trash Removal Service back in the 1980's. Today it is owned by the Affordable Refuse Incorporated.
The cemetery is in bad condition. When they did the readings back in the 1980's they counted 15 headstones. When I visited this cemetery yesterday, I counted about 10 headstones remaining.
I walked and read this cemetery on Aug 02, 2004. I compared my findings with the book "Stones and Bones." I have placed and asterisk * after those who are added from that source, and no longer have a headstone.
