Orme Cemetery
Orme, Prince George County, Maryland

18803 Horsehead Road, Orme, Maryland

Lat: 38° 37' 55"N, Lon: 76° 44' 59"W

From the intersection of Highway 381 and Horsehead Road (this is in the vicinity of the Horsehead-Orme Area), go .5 miles on Horsehead Road until you reach a area where there are three mailboxes on the west side of the road. Turn there and go west for .1 miles. There will be a fork in the road. Go to the northwest road of the fork, past the barn. Park there and walk about .25 north-northwest on a path in the woods. The cemetery is in the woods.

The cemetery is on private land so it is good to first ask permission and directions to the cemetery from the owner.

This is a small family cemetery that is in poor condition. There is one headstone that is missing. There is a lot of leaves and plant undergrowth in there. The cemetery has the descendants of the Orme Family who lived and ran a general store in that area.

I visited this cemetery site on Mar 01, 2008. I compared my findings from the book "Stones and Bones" Copyright 1984.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
