Erickson Family Cemetery
Polk County, Minnesota

Lat: 47°45'45"N, Lon: 96°47'07"W
SE 1/4 Sec 34 Fisher Twp

Contributed by Anne Braun, Feb 23, 2002 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 2.

From the intersection of Highway 9 and County Road 16 (going south towards the town of Eldrige), go 3/8 miles north. It is next to a farmer's field on a bluff near the creek.

This is a family plot containing the Erickson Family.

When I visited there on Feb 22 2002, I walked north about 3/8 miles through a farmer's field to find it. I found the cemetery because of the fence posts on the bluff next to the creek bed.

I went around and could only find one headstone that has fallen to the ground. Because of the wild rose trees, logs, a ton of underbrush I could not located anymore headstones. This is a good example how we don't respect the dead, especially the ones who settled and worked the land in the 1800's, the pioneers of the area.

I also compared my findings with Cemeteries of Polk County Volume 9, Red River Genelogical Society 1990.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
