Old Hafslo Cemetery
Polk County, Minnesota

Lat: 47° 42' 06"N, Lon: 96° 28' 24"W
SW 1/4 Section 30 Kertsonville Township

Contributed by Anne Braun, Sep 12, 2002 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 8.

From Crookston, go 5 miles southeast on Highway 102 until you reach County Road 45, turn on 45 and go east one mile.

The cemetery was owned by Hafslo church late in the 1880's. The church moved to Russia township and a new cemetery was established. I talked to an old Norwegian farmer who's relatives in the cemetery. He takes care of the little cemetery and it was very well maintained. He said that there were 13-15 burials there. His uncle is in an unmarked grave. There are also five white crosses there but the farmer did not know who was buried there.

I walked this cemetery in Sep 12, 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
