Renshaw Cemetery
Rockaway Beach, Taney County, Missouri

Lat: 36° 41' 55"N, Lon: 93° 10' 23"W

Contributed by Charlotte Keen, Sep 16, 2004 [jkeen14660@aol.com]. Total records = 29.

From Springfield, Missouri take State Hwy 65 south to Hwy 176. Follow sign to Rockaway Beach. Turn south on Boys Camp Road (176 / 55). The road will say Dead End, it goes to a housing addition. The cemetery will be on the road at Arrowhead Lane & Arrowhead Circle. It will be right in front of you.

The cemetery was started in 1804 or 1805. The oldest marked grave is 1834. The last burial seems to be 1940. This cemetery is sometimes known as Wilson Cemetery and Hensley Cemetery.

This cemetery is mowed and maintained. The man that owns the property just to the west helps take care of it. He told me there are over 100 graves, with there being a lot of Indians and Children buried here.

When Lake Taneycomo rises it will flood part of the cemetery, during the real rain season.

I walked and recorded the cemetery on Jul 17, 2004.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
