Hillcrest Cemetery
Lucedale, George County, Mississippi

Lat: 30° 55' 08"N, Lon: 88° 30' 09"W

Contributed by James Trussell, Apr 25, 2007, last edited May 03, 2007 [carverofwood1260@wmconnect.com].  Total records = 17.

Traveling east on highway 198 out of Lucedale, Mississippi toward Mobile, Al. you will go 3.8 mile. Here you will take a right turn onto Highway 98 by-pass. Continue east on the by-pass another .6 mile and Hillcrest Church will be on your right. The cemetery is located behind the church building.

The cemetery belongs to Hillcrest church and is maintained by some of the members. There is a chain link fence on two sides and the other two are net wire.

The cemetery is in very good shape. I found only one unmarked grave. The earliest burial was in 1961, judging from the dates on the stones.

This is a complete reading of all existing stones and markers for this cemetery up to Apr 25, 2007.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
