We’ll start our trip to this cemetery on Main Street in downtown Lucedale, Mississippi. Go west on Main street until you come to Lamar Street on your right, take this right hand turn and go several blocks to Magnolia Street. Take a left on Magnolia Street and it will take you into the cemetery.

This cemetery in days past was called the Northside Cemetery, however in 1989 it was renamed and there is a new sign erected at the main gate to the cemetery, which shows the name now used is Lily Grove Cemetery.

The cemetery is owned and maintained by the Lily Grove Church and it’s members.The cemetery is surrounded by a chain link fence and there were many unmarked graves in it.

I walked this cemetery on Dec 08, 2007, and the information was gathered using all existing and legible headstone inscriptions and temporary grave markers.
