Total records = 6.
Directions from Raleigh: From I-40 take the Lake Wheeler Rd. (SR 1375)
exit South to SR 1010, turn right (West) about 1/2 mile to a left turn
onto Johnson Pond Rd. (SR 1404). A short distance on Johnson Pond Rd.,
take a right turn on Heavy Weight Rd. (SR 2400) which is paved a short
way and is then graveled. Follow the road less than 1/2 mile to a small
cemetery, unfenced, in the middle of several homes scattered here and
there in this semi rural area.
The tombstones are in good condition and the area tidy. This is
an African American family burial ground. Descendants of the Woodard
family reside on the property. The cemetery appears to be in the path
of the proposed Southern Wake Expressway Corridor.
Transcribed from tombstones by Shirley and Gordon Olson, Dec 10, 2001.
