Trinity Pentecostal Cemetery
Wake County, North Carolina

3000 Duraleigh Rd., Raleigh, NC

Lat: 35° 49' 17"N, Lon: 78° 42' 16"W

Contributed by Shirley Olson, May 02, 2002 [shirley32olson@yahoo.com]. Total records = 29.

Directions: From Raleigh, take Hillsborough St. west to the intersection of Blue Ridge Rd., turn right onto Blue Ridge Rd. You will pass the Fairgrounds on your left, the Vet. School and Meredith College on your right, cross over Hwy. 40, pass Rex Hospital on your right, and then directly in view is the old church with Duraleigh Rd. beginning on it's left and Blue Ridge Rd. curving to it's right. Stay on Duraleigh and pull into the driveway behind the church to park.

This area on the west side of Raleigh bustles with traffic, expensive new homes, shopping centers and office buildings. Nearby are Rex Hospital, NC State Fairgrounds, NC State Veterinary School, Meredith College, NC Museum of Fine Arts, hotels, state offices, etc. On TopoZone the area is marked "Tysonville".

It is hard to picture the small crossroads community that must have existed here once long ago. Behind an old red brick church building, that is noted on the local map as "Trinity Pent. Holiness", hidden from view, is this little cemetery.

Note: Trinity Pentacostal Cemetery, once located as this transcription says, has been removed to two different cemeteries. The church was demolished and on Sep 22, 2005 the graves were relocated as follows. All but the last 6 interments listed below were removed to Raleigh Memorial Park, located on a hillside at the rear of the cemetery. The 6 Tyson listings were moved to the Tyson Family Cemetery on Sep 22, 2005.

I have from tombstones when I walked the cemetery on Apr 29, 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
