Forest River Colony Cemetery
Grand Forks County, North Dakota

SE 1/4 Sec 3 Inkster Township

Contributed by Anne Braun, Mar 23, 2001 [annieb1961@comcast.net] . Total records = 11.

2 miles east of the intersection of county roads 19 and 1 and then 2 miles north. There should be a sign called Forest River Colony turn there. Go 2 miles north, then make a right, cemetery is about 1/2 mile. Obtain permisson first from owner before looking at the cemetery.

All the headstones inscriptions are in German which is very unusual for these headstones the oldest being 46 years old. You usually see headstone inscriptions in a foreign language done about 100-150 years ago when a lot of the homesteaders and farmers were immigrants.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
