Contributed by Sandi McCoy, Jul 19, 2007 [mlmsam50@threeriver.net]. Total records = 26.

Lost Creek Cemetery is located from Springview, NE 5 miles north on Highway 183, 9 miles west on county road, 3 miles north, 2 miles west and 1/2 mile north on a trail road.

The Lost Creek Cemetery was established as the Schussele Cemetery on Jun 14, 1892, on land donated by John & Jennie Schussele, although there were burials prior to that date. There are a large number of unknown graves marked by a simple cross or a stone. It is also listed on some maps as the Heerten Cemetery, I found not information as to why.

There are no know records for the cemetery. Upkeep is provided by the Lost Creekettes Extension Club. I transcribed this record from walking the cemetery on Jun 30, 2007.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
