Maple Grove Cemetery is owned and operated by Maple Grove Cemetery Association.

History

Maple Grove Cemetery was established in 1875 by a group of six Brooklyn businessmen, after purchasing 75 acres of undeveloped land in Jamaica and Newtown from Mary A. Webb, and modeled after the rural, memorial park concept that flourished in the middle 1800s.

Maple Grove Cemetery was added to the National Register of Historic Places in August 2004.

Today, the cemetery remains as a non-sectarian cemetery, at 65 acres in size.
