Muse Cemetery
Muse, LeFlore County, Oklahoma

Lat: 34°40'24"N, Lon: 94°45'42"W

Submitted by Jane Rowan, Apr 10, 2002, updated Jan 25, 2006 [jrowan30@aol.com]. Total records = 534.

The Cemetery is located right in the heart of Muse, Oklahoma off of Hwy 63, directly behind (north) the town US Post Office.

It is still active and in good condition. On Jan 9th, 1913 the property, consisting of five acres, was donated by a Martha Newson Wilcoxson and a D. Wilcoxson to the city of Muse OK. In addition, there are burials dating back to 1906. In 2002, E. Wayne Winton and his spouse, Sammye Winton donated an addition 3/4 acres to the town of Muse which is adjacent to previous parcel of land.

Since the cemetery was received, it was maintained first by local families of Muse OK.Now it is being maintained via annual donations from family members whom wish to maintain a beautiful manicured and peaceful resting home of their loved ones, managed by a board of directors.

I walked and read this cemetery in the spring of 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
