The cemetery is at the corner Hwy 20 & Lenapah St. in Skiatook, OK. It is on the west end of town, on the south side of street.

This cemetery is owned and maintained by the city of Skiatook OK. The cemetery was approved in about 1953 or 1954. It is divided into 5 sections. Section 1 is the center and divided 4 ways with sidewalks. There are side walks in the other 4 sections a well. It is fenced and well maintained.

There is a beautiful Veteran Memorial with all the Military Men & Woman names on a bricks. It sits on the south east corner. There is seating and a place for a coffin to sit. So they could have a service in the Memorial Building.

The Sexton, Randy James will help you in any way possible. He explained about the Double Faced Stones. They sell four lots and two are opposite from the other two. Most of the time, they are family members with a different last name. This is the reason there are two different names on one stone.

The first interment was 31 Dec 1956. The oldest person buried here was 101 years old. She was Hominy, OK and Oldest Citizen.

This is a complete as I can possibly make it. The are some unmarked graves and stones with no names. I walked and recorded the cemetery in October 2003 and March 2004.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
