History

Fairview Cemetery was commissioned on June 21st, 1897 and has been in consistent use since that time, though many burials have taken place before its official commission date. The Cemetery contains nearly 80 acres of space on the eastern side of Shawnee.

Cemetery Records

Records published here were acquired from the City of Shawnee on October 16, 2016. NOTE: We obtained two sets of records, one from the city's new database, and the other from their old database. The old database contains about 6,000 more records than the new database, and contains dates of burial from July 1, 1802 up through April 14, 2004. The new database contains dates of death from July 14, 1835 through October 5, 2016. The old database lists burial dates, while the new database lists death dates and ages. Where we have duplicates sets of names, we included records from both databases.
