The Zimmerman Cemetery was started in 1868. It is on James Shirley's DLC. There are 38 known graves and 23 unknown graves, 4 that have been removed. There are many more with no stones or markers. All are believed too have been members of the Aurora Colony. Mrs. Patterson lives in front of the cemetery and takes care of it. It is all fenced and is in excellent condition. Our plat is of what is there now as there is no plat to this cemetery. This cemetery is about 1/2 acre in size.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
