In Portland take Hwy 26 west toward Beaverton. Take the Sylvan exit (Scholls Ferry Road). At the top of the ramp, turn left at the traffic signal and cross over Hwy. 26. At the second light, turn left onto Humphrey Blvd. Turn right onto Hewett, then an immediate left into the entrance of the Sylvan Hill Church, which shares its entrance with the cemetery. Cemetery is accessed from southeast corner of church parking lot.

Jones Cemetery was established by Mr. Nathan Jones who was the original land owner through the Donation Land Claim Act. He buring his father there in 1854 and then had his headstone erected prior to his death, which was by a brutal assault in his cabin, taking a week to die. After his death the accused man was tried and acquitted. Mr. Jones donated the land for free burial and to ensure the grave of his father. This cemetery is 3.25 acres in size and includes Havurah Shalom.

Havurah Shalom began in 1986. As you follow the the circular drive, look for an "L" shaped hedge, which, together with a wire fence, separates the Havurah section from the rest of the cemetery.
