From Blue Ridge Summit, go northwest on Highway 16 until you reach Mentzer Gap Road, in the area of Beartown. Turn north and go 5 miles. The road goes northwest, west, northwest. The cemetery is on the south side of the road next to a church.

This is a small church cemetery dating back to the 1860's. The cemetery is in fair condition with a few headstones that are broken.

In August and September 2003, the church and cemetery were up for sale, I have not heard if they sold.

I walked this cemetery on Oct 21, 2003. To the best of my knowledge, the cemetery records are completed.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
