Beulah Cemetery
Nineveh, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 59' 05"N, Lon: 80° 20' 48"W
Morris Township

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Mar 01, 2009, last edited Apr 27, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 241.

Follow Route 18 North approximately 11 miles, passing through the villages of Sycamore and Nineveh. The cemetery is located at the intersection of Route 18 North, Webster Road, 2.78 miles north of Nineveh PA on south side of Hwy 18.

Beulah Baptist Church is located across Brown Creek Road above a couple of houses. One can park at the church and walk down to the cemetery. It dates back to about 1903.

The cemetery is in moderate condition and looks to be maintained on a semi regular basis. I estimate nearly a quarter of all the stones have fallen. There are two areas within the cemetery where stones have been piled around trees. I found 31 partially or completely illegible stones and 6 bases with no stones upon them.

Since so many stones have fallen or are unaccessable I have included portions of a transcription written for this cemetery by Dorothy and James Hennen on 29 Feb 1976. Those entries are marked with an (*) and are not identifiable today. I also have digital photos of all the accessable stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would be willing to share them with anyone interested.

I walked the cemetery on Oct 31, 2008. This transcription is complete and includes all stones within the cemetery plus additional from above mentioned source.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
