Macedonia Cemetery
Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 51' 40"N, Lon: 80° 22' 12"W
Jackson Township

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Oct 15, 2009, last edited Oct 21, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 127.

At the Route 18/21 split just west of Rogersville, make a left at the blinking yellow light on to Route 18 South. Follow for 2.5 miles until you come to the small town of Holbrook. Make a right on Bristoria Road and follow for 4.1 miles. Make a right on to Macedonia Road and follow for .25 miles. The old Macedonia Church and cemetery will be located on the right side of the road.

This cemetery is marked by a sign, is in very good condition and is maintained on a regular basis. The Macedonia Baptist church was established in 1877 but I do not believe it is still in use. A few of the stones are down, but most are still fully legible. There have been burials in recent years. I found two fieldstone markers as well as one funeral home marker that is completely faded and no longer legible.

I walked the cemetery on 11 Oct 2009. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
