Morrisville Cemetery
Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 53' 51"N, Lon: 80° 09' 39"W
Franklin Township

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Mar 07, 2010, last edited Mar 12, 2010 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 154.

The cemetery is located in Waynesburg at the intersection of Route 21 and Route 188 East (Jefferson Road). It is located across the road from a large Sheetz gas station.

There are two sections to the cemetery separated by what was once the old Morrisville M.E. Church. Today that building is a dentist's office.

This cemetery is in very good condition and is maintained on a regular basis. A few stones have fallen from their bases, but most are still standing. Some of the stones are approaching 200 years in age, but most of them are still fairly legible. I also found one field stone marker, one base with the stone missing and four stones that can no longer be read. The last burial took place in 1988.

I walked the cemetery on Dec 06, 2009. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
