Rhodes Cemetery
Morrisville, Greene County, Pennsylvania

From Exit 14 (Waynesburg) of I-79, turn on to Route 21 West and follow for approximately a tenth of a mile until you come to the first intersection. Make a right on to Miller Lane. The Waynesburg Econo Lodge will be on your left as you climb the hill. Continue past the Econo Lodge to the top of the hill where there is a turn around for large trucks. The peak of the hill will be to your left and this is where the cemetery is located.

This cemetery is abandoned and is in no longer maintained. It is surrounded by a large stone block wall that is about four feet tall. There is no gate so you will have to climb over the wall. All the stones are standing, however two of the stones at one point were broken but have been pieced back together with mortar. I also found three bases with no stones. The most notable feature of the cemetery is the white stone near the center that stands approximately 10 feet tall. The cemetery also offers a nice panoramic view of the surrounding area.

I walked the cemetery on Dec 26, 2009 with my friend Charles Newman. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested..

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
