South Ten Mile Cemetery
Graysville, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 51' 30"N, Lon: 80° 21' 36"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Apr 05, 2008, last edited Apr 08, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 226.

From Waynesburg follow Route 21 West through the town of Rogersville to a blinking yellow light. Bear right at the light and stay on Route 21 West. Follow for approximately 6.5 miles, past the village of Rutan for and make a right onto Hopewell Ridge Road. A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation facility will be straight ahead. Before reaching that, there are two gravel roads on your left. The one that runs parallel with Route 21 is the road for the cemetery. The other is a private driveway and is marked as such.

This cemetery is 1.4 miles east of Graysville on Route 21.

There is a small grass lot on which to park beside the church, which is currently called the Hopewell Ridge Independent Church. The cemetery is still maintained. Some stones are worn badly from age, and some have fallen. The last burial took place here in 1966.

All entries which are followed by an * asterisk were taken from a transcription complied by Dorothy and James Hennen on Mar 16, 1975. I could not locate or identify these stones when I surveyed this cemetery in 2007.

I walked the cemetery on Apr 22, 2007 and Oct 18, 2007. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    Clear Digital Media, Inc.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
