Lat: 41° 22' 04"N, Lon: 76° 04' 46"W
Ruggles, Lake Twp PA

Contributed by Sharon S Robinson, Sep 29, 2003 [strzelcz@ptd.net]. Total records = 817.

From Ruggles drive south on SR 29 to Spruce Road. Continue east for only a short distance. The cemetery is on the south side of the road.

Cemetery was chartered 1901, however many burials took place in the mid-1800's. The Cemetery is operated by a corporation, with officers and a governing board of directors who meet semiannually.

The Cemetery is well kept and still in use. The older portion of the cemetery still has available graves, newer sections have been opened. A paved parking area was constructed in 2002, and the Chapel was renovated, including a ramp and new lighting. Funerals may be held in the cemetery or in the Chapel.

Individuals researching family members buried in the Kocher Cemetery may contact me for further information and/or photo of their family tombstone(s)

Access was given to Cemetery Burial Permits, All stones in the Cemetery were photographed. The Cemetery Assn has given permission to place the file on the internet for genealogical research. Transcription was completed during 2003.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
