Pigeon Creek Baptist Cemetery
Vanceville, Washington County, Pennsylvania

888 Vanceville Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330

Lat: 40° 08' 06"N, Lon: 80° 03' 50"W

Contributed by Gary L Caldwell, May 18, 2010, last edited Dec 17, 2010 [caldwell.gary@gmail.com]. Total records = 104.

From Eighty-Four, PA. head south on PA-519 S toward Old Monongahela Pike for 1.9 mi, turn left at Donley Rd/Sr2019/State Route 2019 and continue to follow Donley Rd/State Route 2019 for 2.0 mi, turn right at State Route 2019/Vanceville Rd and continue for 2.4 mi. The cemetery is on the left across from Mine Number Sixty and just before the School.

The Pigeon Creek Baptist Church was formed in 1803 and used a tent but in 1830 land for the church and cemetery was donated by Solomon Huffman. The note in the DAR transcript says "the church has long passed in to decay and removal. The cemetery is still on the location and in fair condition."

This data was collected by the DAR and found in the genealogy section of the Washington PA library. The data is from 1939 so the burial records may not be complete.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
