Brick Baptist Cemetery
Saint Helena Island, Beaufort County, South Carolina

Lat: 32° 23' 22"N, Lon: 80° 34' 34"W

Submitted by Julie Witkowski, Dec 23, 2011, last edited Dec 29, 2011 [jfwski@hotmail.com]. Total records = 62.

Driving north on Lands End Road, the cemetery is on the right shortly after the intersection with Penn Center Drive. The cemetery will be on the right side of road, beside church.

The Brick Baptist Church was built by slaves in 1855, and is the oldest church on the island. The old cemetery area is to the side of the church near the main road. Next to the new fellowship hall there is an area of newer graves.

I walked and read all existing and legible stones and markers in this cemetery in December of 2011.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
