To reach this cemetery drive east out of Belle Fourche SD for less than two miles. Turn turn right or south onto McCoy Road and continue for almost one mile. The cemetery will be on the left or east site of the road.

The Pioneer Cemetery is pretty old and judging from the stones was established in the 1880s. Some headstones are missing, but overall is in good shape for the age. There are a few newer deaths (19th Century) but not many.

This cemetery is accessible by the public at all hours. I do not know who owns the land, but I found it in good condition..

This is a complete reading of all existing and legible stones and markers, done on Mar 11, 2007.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
