Contributed by Julie Coley, Aug 07, 2006 [neatstuffgifts@aol.com]. Total records = 311.

This cemetery is located south of Wichita Falls, Texas near the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Hwy 79, near the Archer-Wichita County line. There is no cemetery sign on the highway.

Land for this cemetery was donated in 1885 by W.A. Bacon to the Evangelical Missionary Society of North America. The first burial was in 1857. A cemetery Association was established in 1940 to care for this burial site, which is still in use.

There are many, many blank spaces where graves probably are and there are many metal markers and paupers stones in this cemetery.

I walked and read this cemetery in March of 2005. It includes all existing and legible markers and stones at that time. I have photos of each marker, if interested feel free to contact me.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
