Take State Hwy 36 North from US Hwy 84 in Gatesville. It is approximately 6 miles on the right at the base of the "mountain". It is across the Hwy from the old William Kelly homestead. It is about 1/4 of a mile off of Hwy 36. There is no road leading to it and it is not visible from the road.

The cemetery was built by William Kelly in 1860. He buried his first child there on his land. He continued to bury his family there. After he died, his children and grandchildren were buried there also.

The road to the cemetery is no longer there. It has been kept up by David Reese Kelly and his descendants. It is owned by the descendants of William Kelly.

The Young family is living across the Hwy from it on part of the original land. There are still family members who wish to be buried there. The Kelly Cemetery is 142 years old.

I have transcribed from the tombstones and also the records left by David Reese Kelly. First known grave was dug in 1860 by William Kelly himself.
